Dear Dryden Elementary Families,

The Dryden Elementary PTA is looking for parent volunteers to help support our upcoming Winter Book Fair! This is always a favorite event for our students, and we truly appreciate your help in making it a success.

Winter Book Fair – Daytime Volunteers
We will need 2 parent volunteers each day from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM to assist in the library during the book fair.

Family Book Fair Night – Tuesday, February 3
We are also excited to host a Family Book Fair Night on Tuesday, February 3, from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM. For this evening event, we will need:

1 parent volunteer from 4:00 PM – 5:15 PM

1 parent volunteer from 5:15 PM – 6:30 PM

The PTA will request volunteers now and will confirm availability closer to the event dates to ensure coverage in the library on those days.

Important Reminder:
All volunteers must have a completed background check form on file with the main office by January 23 in order to help.

If you are interested in volunteering, please email Drydenpta25@gmail.com.

Your support makes a meaningful difference for our school community, and we are very grateful for your time and help.

Thank you for supporting Dryden Elementary and our readers!

Missing 18+ days a year = chronic absenteeism. Let’s work together to avoid that!

MYTH and FACT - Myth: Family trips don't hurt - kids learn from experiences. Fact: Family time is valuable, but classroom instruction is unique. Even short trips can create academic gaps that take weeks to recover from. #drydenelementaryattendance #strivefor5 #youarenotalone #communitystrong

Check out Dryden Elementary’s new book cart for “Project Read At-Home”! This was made possible by a grant from MiFamily Engagement Center. Each Friday, Kdg and 2nd grade students choose 3 books to take home for reading practice targeted to their individual skills. These decodable books are special because they help students practice the phonics skills they are learning in the classroom. Students and families can scan the QR code on the books to watch a video that reinforces the skills. It’s important for early readers to get LOTS of practice with decoding! Don’t forget to bring your bags of books back each week, in order to choose new ones. (FYI, 1st grade students will be starting the Friday book cart soon!) #proudcardinal
