Missing 18+ days a year = chronic absenteeism. Let’s work together to avoid that!
MYTH and FACT - Myth: Family trips don't hurt - kids learn from experiences. Fact: Family time is valuable, but classroom instruction is unique. Even short trips can create academic gaps that take weeks to recover from. #drydenelementaryattendance #strivefor5 #youarenotalone #communitystrong

ICYMI--The future of Dryden Basketball made its debut at halftime of Friday's Varsity game. These 3rd and 4th graders played hard and had the crowd cheering. Way to go!

Check out Dryden Elementary’s new book cart for “Project Read At-Home”! This was made possible by a grant from MiFamily Engagement Center. Each Friday, Kdg and 2nd grade students choose 3 books to take home for reading practice targeted to their individual skills. These decodable books are special because they help students practice the phonics skills they are learning in the classroom. Students and families can scan the QR code on the books to watch a video that reinforces the skills. It’s important for early readers to get LOTS of practice with decoding! Don’t forget to bring your bags of books back each week, in order to choose new ones. (FYI, 1st grade students will be starting the Friday book cart soon!) #proudcardinal

It’s a Cardinal Coin today to the book vending machine for following the Cardinal 3 (safety, respect, and responsibility). #proudcardinal

Yesterday, 4th graders competed in teams to design structures that could survive earthquakes, and each team succeeded! The tallest structure was 63.5 mm. #proudcardinal

5th grade Student Library Board members helped Mrs. White with the distribution of Friday take-home books for Kdg and 2nd grade. They like to call themselves “book fairies”! #proudcardinal

Congratulations to #proudcardinal senior Mallory Barker for being accepted to Lawrence Tech University! #ReachHigher #BetterMakeRoom #CollegeBoundMI #SixtyBy30
