All about me

 All About Mrs. Raymer

I am a passionate and dedicated teacher who loves bringing excitement and joy to learning.  I have dreamed of becoming a teacher since first grade when I fell in love with my teacher Mrs. Jones.  She made me feel eager and inspired to learn and I knew I wanted to pass that gift onto others someday.  My first teaching job was in Raymondville, Texas.  I wanted a job so badly that I was willing to go anywhere to get it.  After teaching there for a year, I returned to Michigan for a job here in Dryden.  I have been teaching at Dryden Elementary since 1996.  I have taught K-6 Music, Gym, Fourth Grade, Second Grade, First and Second Grade Multi-Age, and now Kindergarten....again.  I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Michigan University where I majored in Elementary Education and minored in math/science, English, and Early Childhood Education. I earned a Masters Degree in Principalship from Saginaw University and have completed 30+ additional hours of educational courses beyond that. Here at Dryden Elementary I also serve with other duties which include a variety of committees.

I grew up in Holland, Michigan with my Mom, Dad, and older brother.  We are a very close family that does not let distance keep us apart.  I have been happily married since 2000 and have two wonderful children, Austin and Allison, who are ages thirteen and fifteen.  When I'm not at work, I am at home "working", as you all know, with my family. My family loves music, traveling, and to see, do, and learn about new things. Our summer is always considered one big adventure!

I hope you have all enjoyed your wonderful summer with your children. Thank you for sharing them with me this year!
